It's ok. My two main objections: 1) Scenes and characters are not very well described. You never get a very full picture of what's going on and why people are doing things. They are aliens on earth. Why did they leave? You get a one sentence answer. The world building is shallow at best and so are the characters. There was nothing to distinguish the two males except their names. Even then I kept forgetting which one was which. 2) The whole BDSM thing seemed so random and tepid. Thrown in and not very hot. (Slight spoiler) Also, the kindred own a kink club and the bad guys can't find it? What? And after 5,000 years of living in earth you'd think the human hating purists would get over it by now. After a while the lack of solid world building and characterization left me a little confused, and I simply skimmed to the end.

Magic, Myth & Mayhem

Ryleigh is quickly thrown into a world she never knew existed. Her head’s set on finding her missing friend, but her heart is being torn in two different directions and it’s an emotional craziness as she gets closer to both Lukas and Darian.
Lukas is a bisexual Dominant who seems to like to control every situation. He even has dreams that give him glimpses of certain outcomes, but nothing gave away the predicament he found himself in.
Darian has a terror filled past and it has left him carrying many emotional scars. One being the fact that he’s openly gay and in love with his best friend, but when he feels drawn to a woman for the very first time why oh why is it the one his best friend seems connected too. Talk about a sucky situation. But being him does have its perks…he can shape shift!
“If it were anyone else I’d fight for you, Lia. You’re special. But I can’t hurt him. Not like that.”
The story alternates between three main points of view (Ryleigh, Lukas, and Darian) with an occasion glance into the enemies mind thrown in here and there. Throughout most of the story each point of view continues where the other left off keeping the story moving, but toward the end there’s a part that’s retold from each of their point of views and it felt like a wrench being thrown into the smoothly working machine.
Destined is filled with secrets, intrigue, and hot kinky sex. It combines aliens and myths to produce a race of very interesting people. It’s captivating and I look forward to seeing what happens next.
My Favorite Laughable Moment: It probably shouldn’t have been funny considering it was basically a hostage situation but when Darian went to save Ryleigh it was quite funny.
“Stay still! Pretend I’m not here.”
“But, I wanna see.” She pouted.
“Yeah, about that. I can’t change with my clothes. Being cold ain’t got nothing on standing at four inches and freezing. I’d rather keep my dignity, thank you very much. No peeking.”

when you know your destiny!

having read the prequel helps putting things in perspective in this book, it's not a must read but as said: it helps.
toby finally has her coming to the place he loves frequenting but everything about that night is weird. the guys they met up with were creepy. they lured them out of the place. since then ryleigh hasn't seen toby and she gets whisked of to someplace else but everything feels blurry and she isn't sure what is really happening.
when both lukas and darius see what is happening right in front of them in their own club they can't be more at edge.
they have to get these humans to safety, specially the woman because there is something about her that has these two men in a twist.
as ryleigh's memory is partly wiped away to see what she'll do the day after she's back at their club like a boomerang wanting info about the whereabouts of toby. unbeknownst to her she stepping into a world of aliens and magic and a bond so rare that it takes a lot of talking before all parties involved understand what is going on and whether it is worth it or not.
for some reason ryleigh still isn't safe because more then once they try to take her and everytime they manage to get her back.
join these characters as they set out to fight evil and their own personal battles because there are a few that need to be fought.
really enjoyed the first full book in this series, the torment between them, the love and friendship, utterly perfect this part of the story has been finalized but i know there is more to come!
